Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

At ISHCMC, we partner with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE) to provide students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and develop essential life skills. This globally recognized program helps young people grow, challenge themselves, and discover their potential while fostering personal and community involvement.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE)?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning. It encourages young people to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth by challenging them to explore their passions, build new skills, and make a positive impact in their communities. The Award supports students in finding their purpose, building resilience, and creating lasting memories along the way.

What does ISHCMC offer?

At ISHCMC, we offer both the Bronze and Silver Awards, allowing students to choose their level of involvement and challenge.

Duration 3 months 6 months
(​or an additional 6 months if students have not completed the Bronze Award)
Section Students will complete activities in the following four sections:

  • Skills
  • 2-day-1-night Expedition

Volunteering: A chance to make a difference through community service.
Physical: Continue students’ commitment to improving health and fitness, or try something new.
Skills: Develop a new skill or further enhance existing talents.
Expedition: ​Plan and complete an adventurous overnight expedition as part of a team.
