Maxime, Class of 2019
Maxime, a proud member of the Class of 2019, spent four great years at ISHCMC, joining us in Grade 9. His journey since graduation is a testament to the solid foundation he built during his time here.
After completing high school, Maxime pursued his bachelor’s degree at the University of Manchester. His academic journey included a memorable year in Amsterdam between his second and third years, where he worked for Heineken. After finishing university, he went into his current role at Redbull in Austria. Maxime is now part of a dynamic on-premise graduate program designed to kick-start the careers of young graduates through various rotations, working with different teams, and receiving extensive training to move on to other roles.
Reflecting on his time at ISHCMC, Maxime emphasizes the value of the IB curriculum. He credits the rigorous IB program—particularly the extended essay, internal assessments, the critical thinking approach, and diverse subjects—for his seamless transition to university life. It equipped him with the skills and confidence needed to thrive after high school. Maxime shares, “The IB prepared me exceptionally well. I had strategies to approach research and write academic papers, and I felt more prepared than others.” Thanks to this preparation, the first year of university felt easier than the IB.
Maxime fondly recalls the vibrant community at ISHCMC, highlighting the strong relationships between faculty and students. He says that he always felt supported and comfortable asking questions, appreciating the nurturing environment that encouraged curiosity and growth.
As he concludes, Maxime reflects on his educational journey with deep gratitude, stating, “My time at ISHCMC was great and if I look back, I think it was my favorite school, and that also includes my university. I would put ISHCMC at the very top.”
Maxime’s story is a shining example of the lasting impact of an ISHCMC education, where academic excellence and a supportive community prepare students for success in their future endeavors.
